Indoor FPV Drone Racing in Grand Rapids, MI
Welcome and thanks for checking out our website. We are happy to create the first of its kind Indoor Drone Racing and Battle Arena. Since this is a new concept for indoor drones we are learning as we build it. Please join us as we launch, learn and evolve to become a first class and exciting indoor facility for pilots of all skill levels. Our goal is to create a fun experience for all age levels, teach young and old and grow the local community of drone lovers. So please come and join us in this adventure as we bring a new activity to the area.
Come race or practice 7 days a week at our new indoor arena. Bring your own drone or you can rent one of ours. Race against friends or others and see how you stack up or just come and practice on our indoor course with challenging obstacles. Course design and obstacles will change weekly. See how you stack up against the fastest times each week.
Our battle drones will feature up to 6 drones per team battling for points using infrared lasers with live scoring via an IOS or Android app. Bring your own compatible drone or rent one of ours. Make a team with your friends or join a rag-tag group of other pilots. Our indoor arena consists of 15,000 square feet ready for battle.
We have courses that will provide challenges for all levels of drone racing or just practice flying. If you aren't quite ready for the "Main Course," we have a practice area that will help you become familiar and more confident in keeping your drone in the air.

WHAT IS DRONE RACING?
FPV drone racing (FPV stands for first-person view) is where participants control "drones." A drone is an aircraft without an onboard human pilot, controlled by remote control via line or site or first person goggles. These drones are equipped with cameras so the participant sees the same view as if they were inside the drone. This is accomplished with the live camera stream on the drone. The goal of drone racing is to complete a set course as quickly as possible or before other racers.
Now that you know what drone racing is, here are some flying terms to get you started to becoming a drone racer!
Yaw: If you were looking down on a drone from above, yaw refers to the movement of the drone clockwise or counterclockwise.
Pitch: Simply describes movement up and down along the vertical axis from the front to the back of the drone.
Roll: Basically it refers to the movement of the drone; forward, backward, left and right along a horizontal axis.
What Do I Need to Get Started?
The first thing that you’re going to need is a racing drone, there are three ways of getting one. The first and easiest way is to come in to Drone Time Racing and rent one that is all set to go and learn how to fly it before racing it. You can buy one that comes pre-built with almost everything you need or the other option is to build a racing drone yourself.
After getting more flight experience at Drone Time Racing, reading more info online and watching more flight videos, you’ll start to learn what it takes to become a competitive drone racer and how to modify your drone to fit your flying style.
